Running Start for Careers receives funding grant
Albuquerque, NM – As part Mayor Richard Berry’s Educational Initiatives Running Start for Careers has received a $150,000 grant to offer high school courses for elective credit through pre-apprenticeship program with local business partners, providing students in these challenging economic times with a ‘running start’ on their careers upon graduation.
Grant resources provides the opportunity for Running Start to expand curriculums and a wider variety of career opportunities for City students. Running Start was first implemented in FY12 has become so successful, a prestigious and competitive granting agency (Kellogg), has decided to help fund the program and we are looking forward to the outcomes and benefits it has for the students involved.
